主講人簡介: Bingzhao Li is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington. He received his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the same institution under the guidance of Prof. Mo Li in 2022. His research focuses on integrated acousto-optics and nanophotonics.

Acoustic waves within optically transparent materials can create a moving phase grating, diffracting incident light - a phenomenon known as acousto-optic (AO) diffraction. With the advance of nanofabrication technology, integrated guided wave acousto-optical devices now offer improved power consumption and physical footprint. In the discussion, I'll first provide an overview of the Brillouin scattering process and detail our use of piezoelectric materials for the electromechanical excitation of acoustic waves. Then I will introduce our recent work based on the integrated acousto-optics. such as the acousto-optic beamsteering, specifically its application in LiDAR systems, and the integrated acousto-optic modulator, featuring an approach to scaling integrated photonic computing in the synthetic frequency domain.
